Does anyone know emergency dentist for children in SW London/North Surrey?
My 6 yr old has tooth pain in the last 3 days. We saw private dentist who told us after taking X ray that my daughter`s milk tooth needs to be taken out but they could not help because they did not have facilities for sedation .
We got advice from emergency NHS dentist today that our NHS dentist needs to refer her to local hospital and waiting times are 6-8 weeks????.
She is taking antibiotic and pain killers but surely must be someone locally who could see her earlier!!!???
Private dentist gave us leaflet about someone in Central London , but they did not contact us after we left message on answering machine!!!
Please any suggestions!!

No direct help, sorry. Dentists do not like to remove children's teeth as they need sedation which ca only be done safely in a dental hospital.

My dd many years ago, when they did give children a whiff of gas and air, refused it and got off the chair and walked out! The senior dentist talked to her and she agreed to an injection. All done and removed with no fuss from dd....she was 4 at the time....that child is amazing. It is doable with an injection much faster but it's a rare child that will cooperate.

There are lists of dentists on nhs choices website you can try.

We went to somewhere called 'Gentle Dental' near Godalming (sorry, I know it is miles away but might be a chain) where they did sedation. I was 15 at the time so maybe they do children (am ancient now, don't know if it still there....)

Charing Cross has an emergency dental service - but I think you need to phone ahead and book in.

Oh and they took my DS1 tooth out without sedation when he was 7!

Ring your GP. There will be a message giving the number of the emergency doctors service. Ring them, and they will be able to arrange it for you.

or try Thames Doc - they sorted out my neighbour.

Barts has a children's emergency dental doesn't it? Not exactly local though.

Plenty of dentists do sedation in practice. Seriously Terence are hundreds. Not many have an NHS contract for it though so people end up paying privately or being referred.
