DS vomiting - asking for juice. Should I give him some?

DS is 3.

For the past 3 days he's been getting progressively worse. Started with a temperature and nothin else for the first day. Second day (yesterday) he developed a rash on his hands, feet and face.

He's had hand, foot and mouth so recognised this and knew we'd just have to ride it out. He's barely eaten apart from Ice poles but he's been drinking copious amounts of milk which is very rare for him.

This morning he has started vomiting. He has been crying for milk but I've been giving him very diluted squash. He is just bringing this up within 10 minutes. But when he's not had any he is still sick but only bringing up small amouts of bile. Which seems more painful :(

I'm finding conflicting advice about giving nothing versus small amounts.

And also, he didn't have the sickness with the last lot of h,f & m. Is this some bug on top of that maybe?

Have you got any dioralyte? Mix up half a pint or however much it says on the packet, and give it to him in 5ml doses every 5 mins. Increase it if he stops being sick. I would ring up the NHS direct and go by their advice though as he is younger than my dd when she had it.

I haven't got any no
:(

My DC haven't really been the sicky type. This is the first time he's vomited for about 2 years so he's pretty upset and scared when it happens. He keeps writhing around and pushes the bowl away so it's a pretty grim site in here now.

Just trying to get him to sleep a bit now. We're holed up on the couch with scooby on repeat. Thank goodness for mn to keep me sane :)

Hold back for a bit say 20 mins then start giving him weak squash or flat lemonde or coke or even a bit of sugar in water on a teaspoon. One teaspoon at a time waiting 5 mins between each spoonful. If he keeps bringing that up and more or starts to show signs of dehydration the call NHS direct.

ds1 (17 months) had a bug the other month and he was really sick and brung up all his milk (whic was curdled for extra ewwwwiness!) which he had drank (he wouldn't eat anything and only wanted milk too) till finally he had spewed everything up and was only bringing up bile. We let him have as much diluted juice as he wanted, as imo it made sure he wasn't dehydrated and put something in his stomach to bring up as opposed to just the bile.

Thanks guys.

I'm giving him small amounts of squash. He kept drinking pretty much the whole cup in one go. I think he's confused about the churning in his tummy being hunger etc.

His rash looks sore though. His hands and feet have lots of bumps under the skin mainly but around his mouth and up his nose looks red raw. He's also snotty and has gungy eyes poor love :(

Waiting for DD to come home from a camping trip just now. Hope she's not sick too!
