what's best to wear when suffering from prickly heat

Hi - Am probably being really daft here, but DD (5) has a prickly heat rash (chest mainly with a bit on arms and legs) and I don't know what to put her in for school tomorrow. If keeping her as cool as poss is the priority, then it'll be shorts and airtex top. But if covering her up is more important, it'll be long trousers (poly cotton mix) and long sleeved cotton top. I don't have the same range of clothing choices on a uniform day as I've had today. Grateful for feedback from those with more experience - or just sense - than I've got.

It's best to wear baggy, cool clothing (that covers her rashes).
Do you put sunscreen on her? If yes, it might be the cream that's causes the rash (as heat rash is caused by blocked pores).

Have you tried childrens piriton?

thanks - piriton helping, and I can cover her chest (main rash area) quite easily. Don't think it's the cream causing it cos the rash is on the area that gets the least sloshing with sun cream. Her arms and legs are relatively clear despite exposure. It's a funny old thing.

After answering your question, my DS (3) suddenly developed it the next day on his arms and legs! How strange! Never had it before. I'm glad the Piriton is taking the itch away a bit. It's horrible and hope she doesn't suffer with it all summer.
