Could it be thrush or down to poor hygiene?

Im not convinced she wipes after using the loo when she is at playschool so this could be the cause. I have told her over and over again that she needs to wipe and ask someone to help if she cant. I think she worries she is missing out on something so tries to get in and out of the bathroom as fast as possible! I have put some of dd2's nappy cream on tonight as she looks quite sore.

I could take her to the Boots walk in clinic tomorrow if it is no better.

i think with green discharge you should be taking her to the GP.

Are you using scented soaps or bubble baths? Might be worth stopping if so.I also reckon a trip to the doc is prob best before it starts bothering her.

Hope she's better soon.

Second that on what KittieCat said. DD has discharge sometimes. I did a bit of research and remember reading that soaps, even perfumes in wipes can mess with the 'flora and fauna' down there. Remember reading about green discharge being related to that. Sometimes little girls can get s bit of loo paper stuck there too and that can cause discharge. I would give her plain water baths for a few days, cotton wool & water instead of wipes for a few days and see if it improves. Thrush is very common, but is usually white and thick.

Hmm, green discharge makes me think of bacterial infection and I would definitely take her to the GP.

"Prepubertal vaginitis - often non-infectious and caused by poor hygiene techniques or irritation (bubble baths, harsh soaps, wet clothing, etc.). A retained piece of toilet paper can also lead to irritation and discharge."

Thanks all. It seems a bit better today (after having a plain bath last night!). I will see how she gets on.
