Ds1 has been off colour for the last 24 hrs- temps of 38 - 39 plus runny nose and sneezing. No spots yet but complaining of sore mouth. There's an outbreak of chicken pox in the area and I'm wondering if this is the beginning - is it normal to have a few days run in before the spots? Another reason I'm suspecting this us that the baby and I have no symptoms. I have immunity having had it as a child and the baby is ebf.

my dd had chicken pox a couple of weeks ago, we too had sore throat and a bit of a temp for almost a week before the spots appeared.....its around 10-14 days before the symptoms appear after catching the virus so baby may develop it around a week later (if it is chicken pox) the spots develop over a period of 5 -10 days...hope he feels better soon
