Should I be worried? He is 3 and suffers a lot with tonsillitis, ear and chest infections but he is currently well.

He went to bed at 7.30pm and has been snoring loudly since then. DH and I could hear him downstairs. He does it all the time and often wakes up crying with a sore throat and coughing. I've been in a couple of times and moved him but he soon starts again.

Should I talk to the Dr? What would they do to help him?

Grandaughter was the same. Not much tonsillitis but mahoosive tonsils!! Snored like a schnook helicopter and had apnoea episodes.

They whipped out her Ts & As in the end...and now it is just a cute soft woooohh! Grin

When I was listening earlier (and recording him on my phone) I was concerned he was having periods of no breathing, then a big snort and then off snoring again. DH had his adenoids out when he was small, I think it might help DS.

Dd just had her T&A out for this very reason. They don't do it lightly though so if it is suggested it is needed then it most probably is.

Sleep apnea causes developmental delays and behaviour problems.

Yes I think if he is having periods of apnoea it is worth taking him for an assessment. Affected sleep can affect so much of his life...it would be worth it Smile

Thanks for replies, I think I'm going to ring the Dr's this morning and have a chat with them about it.
