I left my 2yo in the car today to finish his sleep. He woke after 15 mins crying ( that is normal) but was baking hot and sweating. I realised that I am the world's worst mother as he had his mac on and so had obviously got too hot. It wasn't a hot day at all but these Macy's aren't breathable I guess. So I stripped him and he cooled down quickly. He refused a drink. He was really cranky all afternoon but is teething so I put it down to that. He ate a really good dinner. He had a bath and was quite happy. Tonight he has been in bed and has twice asked for a drink and I have since heard him drinking his water. It is normally difficult to get him to drink.
I realise that he did overheat earlier, but is the thirst a sign of a this having damaged him in some way? And the crankiness could have been stomach cramps? His temp was 35.9 when I just did it in his ear. He feels fine tote touch and is now sleeping soundly,
Do I take him to a dr or just calm down and see how he is in the morning? Sorry - very first post, just a bit worried....
For the record, I won't be leaving him to sleep in the car again!
