DS5 constantly needing a wee

For the last 5 days my DS has increased frequency of going for a wee, he is sometimes going 6 or more times an hour and he is only passing a very small amount of urine. He says there is no stinging or soreness, he just feels he really needs to go and then passes a small amount. I took him to the GP on Saturday who just said there was no sign of infection and just to keep an eye on him and I just wondered if anyone had any experience of this, will it just go away on its own or should I take him to the GP again?

If you aren't happy take him back. Simple answer lol.

How old is ds. Because we praise young children so much when they are toilet training (and rightly so) some children do start to 'like' going. Some f them like the kind of soap you have, or the feeling of being a big boy or the fact that they feel independent or because they're bored?

Obviously I'm not saying there is NOTHING wrong, Im in no position to do that, but next time, if he's only just been, why not try distracting him with another activity? Worth a try?

Six times per hour is a lot!

Is he drinking more than usual/thirsty?

Thanks for your replies. He is drinking more than usual only because I am encouraging him to do so as the GP advised that would help things. He has a friend who was recently diagnosed as diabetic and he does not share any of his friends symptoms and also they have tested his urine and it was clear. DS is 5 and has been toilet trained since 3 so I am not sure it is the hand washing/praise. I will try distracting him though, school said last week whilst he did go frequently he is not going as often as he is at home.

I have taken another sample up to the GPs today and asked them to send it to the hospital for analysis. The emergency GP suggested this as a possibility and fortunately the GP receptionists were understanding and just filled the form out and sent it off. It will be the end of the week though before there are any results so I would be grateful if anyone does have any experience of this or advice they could give me.

Bless him he is still going to the toilet so frequently and is getting a bit upset upset about it now.
