Longsighted but doesn't need glasses?

My 11yr old dd has been diagnosed with longsighted and the optician said she doesn't need glasses for now as most children grow out of it? Is he correct?

Most children are longsighted until they are 7, when they start to grow out of it. I don't know what percentage of 11 are still longsighted, but I suppose it is still a fair number. When did optician suggest a recheck?

The optician said it's only a problen if there is a squint. Her next eye test is in a year's time.

how long sighted was she?

The optician didn't say, I guess it's only slight because he said glasses will not make a difference to her so she won't be needing them.

Called the optician today and was told she's 0.75 in both eyes. Is this mild?

yes it is a small prescription as the higher the number the more long sighted they are. DD is +4.5 (left) and +5.5 (right) and also had a squint and a lazy eye (poorer sight in the squinting eye). Not surprisingly she has glasses and has done since she was about 18months old!
