Dry eyes

Hi all

Looking to see if anyone else has had a child with this problem.

My DS is 10 and for nearly a year now has complained on/off with dry eyes. I've taken him to the GP who at first prescribed artificial tear drops then later antibiotic drops.

He's also since been referred to a specialist who found no problems and then a couple of months back I mentioned it to the optician who was testing his eyes and they also didn't see a problem and said his eyes seemed well lubricated. He also mentioned some kids could just get themselves into a habit.

Now DS is complaining his eyes are still dry and occasionally he's getting headaches.

Anyone had similar? I'll book him an appointment again for the GP in the morning but honestly have no idea if it is just a habit because I've never heard anyone else having similar issues.

Has anyone done a schrimmer tear test to measure his actual tear production? I have dry eye which can be really bad (0 schrimmer) at the moment I use blink drops twice daily that help. I find drops only work for a certain length of time and have been through systane, clary mist, lacrube, hypermellos and visco tears.
