Excema - when to see GP?

Ds2 has excema behind his legs, ears and on his neck. usual things i do with Ds1 (has mild excema) such as aqueous cream, oats in bath etc not helping. when\if to see GP? it's not bothering him but look's angry red and sore. been to GP so many times during in the last few weeks (ear infections, chest infections) that feel like we should have our own seat.

if it doesn't go away with plenty of moisturising it's time. you might need a steroid cream. you don't want the skin to become infected, which can happen easily when the skin is broken.

I second going to the GP I went today with my DS for exactly the same reason having done exactly what you did and it failing to work as usual and have come away with a mild steriod cream. Also i would be careful with aqueous cream as it can sometimes make skin worse it contains something called sodium lauryl sulphate which is a detergent and can damage the skin if not washed off so is fine to be used in the bath but not as a moisturiser. link here www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-11564662

Dribble, DD2 has similar which seems to flare just before she is ill, we are using aloe gel on it and it has calmed it right down and I am hoping it will clear it or we will take our regular seat at the GP in the next week.

Thanks everyone,

4lizardsandababy - thanks, remember reading about that somewhere

blueberryboybait - DS2 has just finished a course of antibiotics so I wonder if thats it. Never heard of using aloe gel, might give it a try.
