Chickenpox - Can I send my other child to nursery

My youngest (1) had chickenpox last week, it was pretty mild, and is all scabbed over and well on the way to disappearing. However my eldest (4) hasn't had it, and has no signs of having it. I've read that the incubation period can be 10 - 21 days which means that the latest he could get it would be the end of the month.
I also understand that he's contagious before the rash appears.

So, do I send him to nursery tomorrow?

I think if he hasn't got any symptoms it is ok to send him in until he has (he may not get it).

But if you know there are any vulnerable children there, or any parents that are pregnant/immunocompromised, then I would let them know.

Yes of course he can go to nursery. There is no guarantee he will get it, if you apply the rule that he might get it then we would all lock ourselves at home all the time just in case we had come into contact with an infectious illness :)

Yes he can go but keep him away from any especially vulnerable people - people on chemo / immuno suppresants, some pregnant women and small babies.

Thanks for the replies. I will phone the nursery in the morning as although I'm pretty certain non of the other mothers are pregnant I don't know their medical history!
