Yet another poo question

My DS (16 months) was sick three times on Monday afternoon/evening. Yesterday, no more sick but had a slightly high temperature of 38 ? he did three small poos that were normal. Today much more back to himself, no temp but has diarrhoea and last episode was completely watery.

So, the question is what do I feed him? He was only having dry toast, crackers etc and seemed to be getting on a bit better so I gave him a banana at lunchtime ? could that have made it worse? Should I go back to dry toast?

Oh, and I know you're meant to avoid dairy for a few days after an upset stomach but does that also apply to soya products?

up to date advise is to feed them if hungry and that starchy foods are good so banana is fine. NHS direct website does not say to avoid dairy products and as soya is not dairy it would be fine to give too.

Anything they fancy is fine within reason. A restricted or bland diet is no longer thought to make a difference.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure he's that keen on anything at the moment, refused a breadstick a while ago. I'll just offer him a few things at teatime and see if any of it is met with approval.
