DS has one of his front teeth that has 'dropped' out one side but the other side seems to be glued in.Wont budge with any amount of pulling.Cant twist it.Im pretty sure its being held in by the new tooth and got a bit trapped...when his other teeth have come out the new tooth is always visable already....any ideas?Oh and the tooth next to it has gone already.

How old is he? The tooth can't be held by the permanent tooth really but if the permanent one isn't erupting right into the space of the baby tooth then it won't be loose. Any history of trauma in the area?

Hi Grumpy- yes about 4 months ago he slipped onto the table and knocked the other front tooth and it went backwards. No blood just lots of tears.Went to the dentist the next day and she took an xray and said all was fine and that it will fall out by itself. It took a couple of weeks. The tooth inquestion now is the one next on it.

Doesn't sound like that's the cause of the problem then. Sometimes mire severe trauma can cause the root of the permanent tooth to curve (dilaceration) but it doesn't sound like that.

I wouldn't say it's urgent but best to ask your dentist.
Sorry can't be more help.

Go to the dentist - one of mine stayed put until the new one was right through and only the enamel of the baby one remained, so it needed pulling out as it would never come through on its own.

Don't twist the tooth. You can try squeezing at the gum line but if this doesn't work and it doesn't hurt then leave it. It could be hanging on by a little thread of flesh like my dd's was.

my dd2 had big tooth and baby tooth wouldnt fall outshe started to get pain eating as it kept banging it and the dentist agreed to take it out
