What do the friend's HV and doctor think about it?

Speaking as the mother of three perfectly healthy girls who have been ultra-skinny in babyhood and toddlerhood- 2.7 year old weighs 11kg at the moment, up from 10 in December, skinny babies seem normal to me- other people's babies always seem so fat. DS was a chunker on the other hand. DD3 can still fit into age 3 month trousers (as shorts now) now that she's in pants.

Doctor has put baby on high fat food. she is breastfed but solids all have either the high calorie stuff mixed in or cream butter or egg folks mixed in. hv referred her.
I don't think those things have made any difference which is why I am worrying. but don't dare say anything to friend as I think she also knows that something isn't right which is why she is so pfb about this baby.

Duchesse tjats very reassuring. my own babies were chunky chubbers but became skinny once they came out of toddlerhood. they just didn't seem to understand about the obesity epidemic. :-(

I hope that is all it is and she's just destined to be skinny baby. I just scared it might not be the case.

Out of interest I just worked out where on the charts DD3 is now- it turns out that since gaining that kg since Christmas (although that went via a bout of Norovirus that saw her drop back to 9.3kg in January) and being up to 11.2 kg she is now back up to the 5th percentile! Getting her to eat anything is a struggle to be honest- she'd rather just play. She was also fully breastfed until 10 months as not in the slightest bit interested in eating anything. I actually think that fully breastfed babies grow more slowly naturally. Does your friend's baby seem pale? Do you think she might need some extra vitamins than she's getting? Although if she seems healthy and active chances are she's fine tbh.

Or a tad below the 15th centile acording to the WHO charts.

Lack of weight gain is one of the symptoms of coeliac disease... She might be too young to be tested (my DD was 2.4) but its worth asking, especially of she has any of the other symptoms... Bloated tummy, muscle wastage, runny poos or constipation, grumpiness, fussy eating
DD was off the bottom of the chart for weight and wearing clothes for 9-12 months when she was diagnosed...
