Cradle Cap cure?

4 month old ds has cradle cap. It varies between the usual yellow stuff to looking red and angry.
Doc prescribed double bass cream which is no good and we've also tried dentiox and olive oil which are also not working.
Anyone have any wonder cure or anything that may help please?

I used dentinox and olive oil on DS1. Dentinox gave him eczema. Oil did nothing. It carried on until he was 2.

I bought some Vosene with tea tree to help "prevent" nits, as there was an outbreak at nursery. Within 3 days the cradle cap was gone. I'm still not sure if it was a coincidence, but a year on it's never returned.

If its red and angry still I'd go back to the gp. My ds had it really bad and he was prescribed a shampoo. Sorry it was 5 years ago and I can't remember what it was called but it was either a steroid or antibiotic to get rid of the infection. It worked a treat though! :)

Thank you! Shall try the toothbrush and the vosene for a week and if it isn't any better it's back to the docs for us!

Lots of olive oil during the day and a good scrub at bath time. A soft brush or one of those exfoliating gloves!

I have a cure :) and it even works when they have cradle cap under hair.

I had tried everything on dd 2 to get rid of it. Then someone suggested this and it worked over night. Hydromol ointment (ask the pharmicist for some) its paraffin ointment. Smother it over head - its a bit messy. Leave on overnight. In the morning wash off then brush with a soft brush. It god rid of every single bit of cradle cap :)

I think the answer is to brush the scalp... we tend to think that babies don't need their hair brushed as they don't have any, but in fact its the scalp that need brushing and stimulating to remove the build up of grease.... those baby brushes are just the job... if you get rid of the cradle cap then keep brushing their scalp, it keeps it away.
