adult tooth before baby tooth falls out?

dc has his first wobbly tooth.
however his new tooth is already out (tip showing) behind the baby tooth.
is this a problem or will the new tooth align with the others once the baby tooth is gone?

I'm pretty sure this is normal - DS is now onto his sixth wobbly tooth and in all cases there was a monster adult tooth behind the baby one. Miraculously, the adult tooth moves forward and there is space for it even though it's so much bigger than the tooth that fell out. Their jaws are growing so the spaces between the teeth enlarge. Your dentist will be able to tell you immediately if there's any cause for concern.

My dd had this with her two bottom teeth.

The adult teeth grew to nearly the same height of the baby teeth! They seemed to take forever to drop out.

When I took her to the dentist, he was not bothered at all and said to give it another 4 months, but come back if concerned. 4 months later, I was about to make an appt and the little sod dropped out! Same happened with the second bottom tooth. Took 5 months for that one to drop out!

Her 2 bottom adult teeth are a little crooked, but hopefully they will sort themselves out.

It is very common, but if your concerned, take him to the dentist :)

Its not a problem - the teeth seem to sort themselves out very quickly

Same experience here with ds1 as dillie and bluestocking, apparently it's not unusual, however alarming it looks Smile

DS's bottom front 2 big teeth were fully through before any of his teeth fell out. Dentist saw them at a check up and wasn't bothered. Said they would fall out and the tongue would push the new teeth forward. That's exactly what happened!

thank you, very reassuring Thanks

My dentist called them shark teeth. DS1 has had it with four bottom teeth but not top teeth. Dentist said it might be a sign that adult teeth could be a bit overcrowded but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

DH has huge head so if DS1 takes after him there'll be plenty of room Grin
