14 Week old with Reflux and Stomach Cramps - related or 2 separate issues?

Hi Everyone - I am new to mumsnet and thought I would seek and advice or hints/tips. My beautiful baby boy was diagnosed with Reflux at 6 weeks and over the course of the last few weeks has now been prescribed Omeprazole. It seems to be helping with the acidity pain, however he has also been experiencing severe stomach cramps at exactly the same time every morning when he tries to squeeze out wind and it eventually passes when he has a poo nappy. I am at my wits end as no doctor seems to have an answer for us. we have explored potential allergies but nothing has been proven and we just don't know whether it is a sympton of the reflux. I'm not sure how many more sleepless nights I can take from 3.30am onwards watching my baby in discomfort. Can anyone offer any advice or share similar experiences which might help. Thank you xx

I have no advice Curly but didn't want your post to go unanswered. Hopefully a wiser poster than I will be along shortly to help Smile

Not sure if this helps but my DS had awful colic (not reflux) and had a similar rough time each morning trying to poo.

This sounds funny but I'd put him in his little bouncy chair that vibrated for a few minutes and hey presto he would poo very easily and the discomfort seemed to disappear. In fact if you didn't keep a eye on him the poo would have vibrated out of his nappy and up his back before you knew it!

Might be worth a try? Have a change of clothes ready though... Wink
