Just to add to ds2's never ending list of illnesses since christmas, she now has really eggy/sulpher like smelly burps.

So far this year we have had 3 colds, 2 bouts of tonsillitis an ear infection and a perforated ear drum.

she also has a nappy rash coming which will no doubt end up being horrific as have the last two she has had.

do I have to stop her eating?

I would prepare for vomming!

Tis always the 1st sign of D&V in this house.

mumatron · 12/03/2012 20:09

I was really hoping no one would say that.

she already thinks sleep is for wimps.

best go and find myself some strong coffee and prepare for a longer than normal night.

I personally wouldnt stopo her eating. Ime kids are pretty good at self limiting their food. Just make sure she drinks.

Tbh if she was otherwise ok i wouldnt be that worried really.i sympathise though, currently have ds with astronomical temp and dd has been ill on and off with a constant low grade fever since the second week in january. Its so hard.

McCrappy · 13/03/2012 07:56

How was your night?

No vom I hope!

I would get her checked over by the GP if it doesn't go away. Eggy sulphurous burps make me think giardia - probably not, but if persistent worth checking.

Hope she's OK (and you Brew).

What is glardia??

She settled at about 11pm with no sickness. She woke at 5am and had been sick at some point in between. She woke up happy so not sure it was then.

Her stomach was still a gurgling and the eggy burps were still there but no where near as strong.

Can I wait to see gp in the morning or should I try for an appt today?

Oh god! Don't know what to do now. I'm in work and she is with mil. I'll get her to keep me updated and take it from there I think.

Anything else I should be looking out for?

Sorry, a bit Shock at people suggesting it's Gardia, when viral tummy bugs are absolutely rife at the moment and Gardia is relatively rare in this country.

Please don't worry OP, just check her for signs of dehydration and be prepared for your poor MIL to go down with the same

peggyblackett · 13/03/2012 09:44

Mumatron, sorry didn't mean to alarm! Having had giardia I immediately think of it when I think of eggy burps .

Hope she feels better soon.

mumatron · 13/03/2012 10:15

She seems ok tbh, ate her breakfast ok, drinking plenty.

Just spoke to mil and she has given her a piece of toast and said she is happy enough atm.
