My ds is now 14 weeks old he was born quickly and this apparently caused him to be very mucousy in his throat. He is very snuffly still and it appears not to have cleared up at all. Taken him to 3 different gps who assure me its not on his chest but in the back of his throat. Hvs telling me different things. Anybody else experienced thus with ds/dd? Everyone that meets ds comments on how loud his breathing is, he's been in own room from 2 weeks as couldn't get any sleep next to him! Just after a bit of reassurance really. And wondering when it will clear up! Thanks

Sounds like it could be a post-nasal drip dripping into his throat. Try saline nasal drops to clear the post-nasal drip. My first daughter had this after she was born by CS due to the fluid not being squeezed out as would have happened in a natural birth. You could also try raising the cot mattress at the head end so that it will drain more easily when he is sleeping.

My ds had the same issue.her nasel passages seem so tiny that sometimes it looked like she was gettin no air! Shock I used olbas oils and vapour rubs but the doc did advise against them as they can become dependent on them! It got so much worse when she got a cold too, those plug in vapourisers were goo.
Deffo as prev poster said,a raised mattress and a nasal spray! Good luck and hope it clears soon!

Have tried saline sprays and did nothing. It all sounds very loose, its not as though he has blocked passage. Have had his mattress raised since birth too. How old were yours before it cleared up? Thanks for replies

Mine was three to four mnths I think but she constantly struggled with colds! As soon as one went, along came another.very frustrating and I felt so helpless! Du have central heating? Could the air be too dry?
