Ds breathes v noisily when lying down . Paeds said he has floppy larynx but he wd grow out of it. I lay with hi in bed for 2hrs last night and it was too noisy for me to sleep, plus there were episodes of sleep apnoea .

I want to get him seen asap, by someone who is an expert in this area.

I amscared he's going to die in his sleep.

Your GP will refer privately if you ask them. They won't have a problem with that.

Your GP should be able to refer you to the local private ENT consultant.

Or you could phone your nearest private hospital (look on Google) and just ask them to put you through to the secretary for one of the ENT consultants.

Do you have a movement monitor for now as we really panicked when dd started sleeping on her front face down. It was a godsend, really put us at ease.

Hope you get it sorted.

no sleep mat, but head of cot mattress raised quite a bit so his breathing improves when he's in there. we have been co-sleeping for half/most of the night since he was born but am going to try to keep him in the cot now, I don't think it's safe for him to sleep on a flat surface.

Feel like I'm being so PFB but I will never forgive myself if something happens to him because I didn't persist in getting an accurate diagnosis or answer as to why he breathes so noisily.

he sleeps on his side facing a rolled up towel and I tuck him in tightly so he can't roll unless he wants to, IYSWIM.

I don't think there is anything wrong with being a bit PFB, its completely natural. Consider the movement monitor whilst he is in his cot, it could really help if his breathing slows/stops. Even the alarm on its own if often enough just to start them up again.
