Molluscum...is it inevitable DS will catch it now, and in fact has he got it already?

My 2 year old DS's friend has got molluscum contagiosum, and has a cluster of blisters on his shoulder. We will avoid the two boys bathing together, sharing towels, and all the other obvious stuff, but I guess DS will still catch it? Not the end of the world if so (hopefully he won't get it really badly - fingers crossed), but I would still like to be prepared.

The other thing is that he has a few very small red, slightly raised spots on his face. Just a few, and they almost look a bit like the little pink bumpy spots he gets on his skin when it reacts to my stubbly DH kissing him, but they seem a bit redder, plus they haven't gone away. They look almost like tiny whiteheads, although their paler centre looks 'deeper' than a pimple, if you see what I mean. One on his cheek, under his eye, has been there for over two weeks, and is possibly looking a bit less red than it was, but is still definitely there. The two or three others, which are on the side of his cheek, have been there for a few days.

It seems currently too minor a thing to take him to the doctor for. Does it sound like it could be molluscum? Or just little 'normal' pimples?

My DD2 had molluscum for about 6 weeks before I realised what is was (crap mum alert). Neither of my others caught it, despite sharing baths, towels etc etc.
