She's been sick since Friday night, only thing she's kept down since then food wise is a slice of toast yesterday morning (the toast at tea time yesterday reappeared by 8.30pm). She's got worse today to the extent that water (no food obviously) is staying down 10 mins then back up again, and she's vomiting bile. Her temp is not too bad, around 38, which is down from 39 yesterday.

She's asleep at the moment. What should I do? Keep giving her a sip of water every 10 mins (when she's awake)? Or leave it longer, eg a sip every half an hour, or nothing at all?

Is she urinating as normal? I would keep a close eye out for any signs of dehydration.

Otherwise keep offering fluids little and often.

She's had one wet nappy today, so I think she's not dehydrated. But it's since she woke up at 1pm (which is when she had the wet nappy) that she seems worse and can't keep water down.

Ice lollies are a good way of getting water in slowly, as she licks small amounts will get in which she may not throw back up.

Sorry for the delay... dd2 fell asleep on me so couldn't move, then threw up some more. Now finally in bed properly.

I definitely don't think she's badly dehydrated - she did one wee this afternoon but it leaked all over my lap! Fingers crossed for some sleep tonight, and roll on spring, it's been non stop illness since November!

DS2 (14 mo) had this a couple of weeks ago, lasted for 5 days Sad
Took him to GP on day 3 as he was looking dry and was prescribed Dioralyte which stayed down when water and breast milk weren't doing and perked him up a lot too.
Hope your DD is better v soon

Well, she's back up and running (well, not collapsing at least) again.

5 days, you were right!
