Can you please? DS has had 5 today, varying colours, all mostly mushy, some with bits in, none particularly large. It's been like this for weeks I guess - I do remember a time we could 'flip it into the loo', but not for a very long time. His diet hasn't changed, isn't brilliantly but reasonably well balanced. Is it just a phase or do you think we need some medical attention? Thanks Smile

my 2 year old DD's is more often than not mushy, sometimes with bits in (toddler diarrhea apparently). She eats loads of fruit so I tend tothink this is why. She does about 2 a day.

I know a lot of people say it's a myth but I'm sure my DD's is worse when she's teething (like atm). Is your DS teething?
Ifyou're at all worried, no harm in talking to the doctor

DD had what I thought was a 'toddler diarrhoea' for a good few months when she was 2. So poos that were mushy and/or pale, with bits or sometimes quite liquid. As far as I can tell she doesn't have any food allergies.

One thing I've done was to cut out the juice and only give her one diluted glass a day and that helped a lot.

You might want to see a doctor just in case, as some allergies/intolerances can become apparent at any age iyswim, but I would think it's most probably the case of TD and it will resolve itself soon.

Thanks ladies. Only trouble is our doctor is crap, so if I want something done I feel like I have to be sure it needs doing first so I can gear myself up for a fight over it. I might talk to a hv first...?
I think DS might have all his teeth now, I say think because it's so hard to get in to the back and have a look, but last time I was able to at least 2 of the back molars were through. It could be the remaining ones though...
He generally only drinks 1 cup of milk and one of squash per day and the rest is water, but he does like smoothies, so they might be to blame. Do t really want to cut that out though as he's not big in eating veg and that's one of the few ways of getting goodness into him!
Thanks though ladies, some food for thought, and reassurance there; most welcome!

Oh, yes, smoothies are the culprit, then! I don't know if it would be better to cut them out-on the one hand, they are full of vitamins, on the other, I guess too fast digestion (as in the case of diarrhoea) prevents the full absorbtion of nutrients Confused
