My 4 year old DD has been ill since Wednesday evening. She's had a temperature of between 38-40 C and we've been giving her calpol and ibuprofen every 3 hours since Wed eve. She has a cough and has been very tired. Would you take her to the doctors, or just wait until she feels better?
Thanks.

If you are at all worried call the doctor. There does seem to be a lot going around at the moment, but if you are concerned ring - if nothing else just to get some advice.

I'd take her to get checked.

I'd ring the Doctor and ask what they think.
But if you think she needs to go then make a appointment, you can always cancel it if she gets better.
Hope she is better soon!

I'd second getting her checked if you are worried - there is lots going around (see this thread)

Both my dd have had this nasty high temp big/ virus has lasted a week I did take to doctors who just said to keep an eye on them and they did eventually show signs of improvement but they barely ate the whole time and both have been very tired and coughing . Would definately be worth at least ringing the doctor to check on guide lines for the length of time safe to be administering the calpol/ nurofen. Hope ur dc feels better very soon there's alot going round :)
