Hi just wondered if anyone else has had this? After I've fed dd especially at night she sounds so congested, her chest feels rattly and her breathing is so noisy like she needs to cough and clear her throat. This completely disappears during the day.
I asked the dr at her 6wk check. She told me that their throat / nose is not completely developed yet and this is what causes the noise, she said it was nothing to worry about.
However, last night she was so noisy it woke me up. I tried winding her, changing position etc. and in the end the noises stopped when i held her in my arms so her head was slightly elevated. Last night she was making these snuffly noises before feeding but usually it happens after I have fed her.

Any ideas? Thank you.

DS and DD (10 weeks) have this but they had silent reflux so acid comes back up their throats and down again. Night time is worse as they're lying down. DD gets very squeaky after a big feed and also has the rattle, so I keep her upright for 20 mins or so post feed.

However it could be a cold or dust making her a bit more sniuffly at night? I get more bunged up at night in bed with a cold or when hayfever kicks in so have to vacuum every day and air the room etc.

Both my babies did this and grew out of it around 12 weeks ish. It's perfectly normal, and as your doc said, it's because their throat/nose etc is not yet fully developed. HV also sugguested opening the window a tiny crack, which helped a little.

Silent reflux first thing I thought of too.. My ds had it terribly and always sounded congested.

Wouldn't she cry and be in pain if she had silent reflux?
