Ds2 is 2.2 and was at emergancy doctors last night and diagnosed with tonsilitis :( his mouth and tongue are so sore and covered in sores and what look like ulcers so he is reluctant to drink he is even struggling to swallow his spit so is constantly drbbling.
I am managing to get a few mils down him but is causing us both to become upset :(

go to see the doctor asap when you notice signs of dehydration
in the meantime:
give painkillers (paracetamol, nurofen)
offer drinks plenty and often, try ice lollies (just frozen juice/squash), grapes

dd2 goes on drink strike when she's poorly, she often lasts 2 or 3 days. Ice lollies seem to work and jelly, just keep an eye on how often he wee's if he stops weeing then you know he is dehydrated.

Thank you just managed to get a bit of jelly down him so better than nothing x x
He doesn't seem to be showing any major signs of dehydration but I will keep a very close eye on him.
His mouth is just so so sore poor little man :(
