Hi my dd is 14 months old. She has a mouthful of teeth and currently getting last ones through. For the last couple of weeks she has started having very soft stinky poos and definately pooing more frequently! I don't know where its all coming from she's not eating anymore than usual. She has very sore bottom too. Anybody got any suggestions as to why this is happening all if a sudden? She has been poorly but she's had sniffles for months! Could it be her teeth?

Yeah, sounds like teeth to me...

14 months is very early to finish teething, both my DC were +/- 2 1/2 when they finished. They did start a bit late I suppose, DD was 9 months DS about the same IIRC.

Yeh she had first teeth at 3 months, got about 6 to go I reckon, out the way early I suppose. My ds only two months and he got rosy cheeks and chomping on hands so guessing he's gonna start early too. Just hope ds poo goes back to normal soon! Need to get rid of her sore bum bless her

I use metanium when DD is teething. It works brilliantly as creates a good thick barrier.

Metanium is indeed a wonder cream. It needs to be applied very thinly but it's an excellent barrier and healer. There's nowt better.

My DC's teething crossed too, oh the joy!

THis too shall pass.

Yes I'm using that its brilliant but because you have to clean it all off before you can apply again its sore for her, defo works the best though

Sounds like you're using way too much of the metanium to me. A pea sized amount is plenty for the whole nappy area, top to bottom, front to back. The tinyest smidge is enough for just the bum, say a 1/4 pea. IME it's best dabbed on lightly and quickly, just like eye cream, rather than smeared on. Honestly the less you use the better it works.

Also, do you use babywipes? They are vicious the more expensive the more caustic IME . Using cotton wool and water for a while would probably really help it heal.

My pediatrician advised me to use corn starch on any broken skin before applying cream, otherwise the cream just 'floats' off the sorest places leaving them unprotected.

Hope things improve soon!
