Dd (12) had it first, and it lasted about 2 weeks and then ds (9) started with a very very croupy cough. After about a week the cough turned more chesty and i took him to the gp. They checked his chest and said it was clear, but because he was struggling they gave him an inhaler.

A week on, and his cough is still here, and he is coughing up so much phlegm that it gets stuck in his throat and he really struggles to breathe. Then he vomits up all of whatever he ate last.

He's just eaten his dinner, had a coughing fit, really panicked because he felt he couldn't breathe and all of his dinner has come back up Sad

His seems to be lasting longer than dd's and I was wondering iof anyone else has had this ??

Yes you can.

Yes you can get it if vaccinated. I got it and I was fully vaccinated. There is a large epidemic of it in Australia and parts of the US, most of the population are vaccinated but they are getting it anyway. Whooping cough vaccine is one of the least effective vaccines.

Lots of Vitamin C required.

Thanks - it just didn't cross my mind that it could be whooping cough. She seems a lot better today but I will be looking for the return of the cough!
