18 month girl in distress over nappy area

My little girl is 18 months and seems increasingly distressed over her nappy, she always pats or pulls at it when she has a dirty nappy but today she has been doing it a lot even if it is clean and dry. She hasn't had a dirty one for almost two days and her urine output seems reduced but she has just drunk an entire bottle of juice. she seems off her food and a little warm. I'm wondering if she has cystitis, got her a Dr's appointment for tomorrow but wondering if anyone can suggest anything to make her more comfortable in the interim?

Just lots and lots to drink, I think. And change and clean her thoroughly as you are already doing. Sitting in a warm bath can also help.

Is her skin sore on the outside, or just on the inside? My DD developed excruciating nappy rash that we didn't know what to do with. We even (in the summer) had sheets down on the floor as she was going completely without a nappy to give her skin the best chance to recover. Turns out she had an infection and required anti fungal cream (which cleared things up overnight). You can get this at the chemists.

She also, at the age of 2, had cystitis. We went for an appt and they tried to get me to take a sample to send off. By the time we had managed a sample, they told me it was too late to send it in that day. I went home and within an hour was back on the phone to them. I held the phone out away from my ear to let the receptionist hear the screaming that was my poor DD sitting on the potty trying to have a wee. They gave me a prescription straight away.

You could consider trying to find which of your local chemists is the one to be open late night tonight and phone the pharmacist for some advice.
