Possible migraine?

DD (few weeks off 6 years old) has on a couple of occasions recently complained of a sore head and then vomited straightaway. She has been extremely pale but brightened up the minute she was sick.

However last night she was a bit grumpy and stated she did not want to go in for her swimming lesson as she hates it. Normally she enjoys it so I told her not to be silly and put her in. I noticed as the lesson progressed that she kept putting her head in her hands. I went to the poolside and asked if everything was ok? Instructor said she had just complained of a sore head. I took her out and while getting her dressed she could barely stand and was almost green in colour. Typically I feared the worse and checked she could look at the light and that her neck was not rigid. In the car going home she was confused, slurring her speech and falling asleep while I was talking to her. She was irritable with me (mainly because I kept questioning her on whether she had bumped her head recently). I am 5 minutes from the pool so I only went home to phone NHS 24 and get her straight to the hospital. We got in the house DD vomited and was right as rain! I kept her up for a while just to see if she got ill again but she was fine. Apart from being so pale and the dark rings under her eyes.

Since she was up late I kept her off school today. I asked her if she had felt alright yesterday and she said school was too noisy. All day she had been annoyed at the noise everyone made and that was the reason her head hurt. Now DD's class is a teacher's dream and so well behaved. I think she was just sensitive to any noise. My sister suffers from migraines and said that is how she feels before she has one though she developed them as a teenager. Does anyone else have experience in migraines in children? Should I take her to the GP since this is the 3rd time it has happened? Though the other times were not so dramatic.

My ds has suffered with migraine since the age of 3 and during an attack is very sensitive to noise (and light) .I really think you should get her checked out and get a proper diagnosis.

Thanks for replying. I managed to get her an appointment with the GP tomorrow morning. I asked her dad and turns out he suffered from migraines as a child/teenager too.
