DD began getting these bumps, just the one here and there, when she got chickpox in June. She then got impetigo in september and they have got worse since then. I have been told at gp they are milia. took back again as they did not clear and been told maybe eczema, maybe milia, and given cetraben emollient cream to use. After a week of use they seem worse if anything at all. Anyone have experience of these please? pic attached to profile.

hellhasnofury · 12/01/2012 17:44

Have you looked at images of mollescum?

Seona1973 · 12/01/2012 17:58

yes, could be molluscum contagiosum

megan123 · 12/01/2012 19:09

thank you all. ive set everything to public. can u see the pic on my profile?
i dont think it's molluscum, they come and go every week.

Is it only on her forehead? Could she be allergic to something. My DH gets eczema on his forehead because he's allergic to something in the lining of the safety hat he sometimes has to wear on site. Just a thought.

megan123 · 12/01/2012 19:22

the pic should be there now. gp says not an allergy, if it was it would be all over her body. I really am at my wits end with it, have no idea and just dont know what to do. will be going to gp again tomorrow but if you could look at the pic and see what you think. I should add that every week 1 or 2 spots turn into large whiteheads, even look like boils.

You can get contact allergies so not sure what your GP is talking about there. My DS has had numerous localised allergic reactions to all sorts of adhesives on wound dressings, he now can't use anything which sticks to his skin. Had a quick look at the pic, don't know what to make of it, will have a think and get back to you!

thank you pandanot. now that you've said that she does get a very red mark on her skin if she uses a non sensitive plaster. there is nothing in the home/garden that hasnt always been here and i havent changed any products. please anyone have a look and see what you think. I havent seen any other child with this and i'm really starting to get worried. thank you.

Has she been wearing a hat? Had coat hood up? Any different hair products?

megan123 · 12/01/2012 20:55

thanks ballstoit, but no, nothing like that. They have been coming since June...this is the worst point, just started with one here or there.

Does she sleep face down? Could be the detergent used to wash the pillowcases.

EduStudent · 12/01/2012 23:59

Have you checked her scalp as well? With hair products, it may be that they've changed the formula, even if you use the same one.

Does she wear a bike helmet or go horse riding regularly? Or wear a helmet at any point?

Does she rub her forehead a lot?

lambethlil · 13/01/2012 08:57

How old is she?

They look like regular hormonal/ teenage acne spots to me.

Seona1973 · 13/01/2012 12:05

she's only 6 though so shouldnt be getting teenage acne

megan123 · 14/01/2012 11:02

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. She doesnt have anything in her scalp and doesnt wear anything on her head, no new products etc. Will be back at GPs on monday for a referral to a dermo I think.
