My 21 month old DD woke at 3 am Wed having been sick. Cleaned her up and she went back to sleep until am. Next day seemed fine, ate normally, etc. Same thing every night since, between 2 and 3 am. On Fri she did seem poorly and just wanted cuddles, felt slightly hot but not raging temperature. By yesterday afternoon, seemed much happier, was playing with her sister, etc. She has had a cold, so wondered if it was post-nasal drip making her gag, but I felt nauseous for a couple of days as well so likely to be a bug. But why is she only sick at night? It's not like any sick bug my other DD has ever had where she's been sick repeatedly for several hours and that's it. Am just giving her toast to eat today and see if she's any better tonight. Anyone else had this in their DCs?

Also found this fread from googling, DS ages 5 is the same Friday night sick fine during the day and has repeated all week it's now Tuesday night and still being sick, 5 nights last night I called 111 took him out of hours the doc checked urine blood sugar levels temp etc and tummy he said it could be the start of an urine infection or possible appendix or in fact a bug told me to monitor him for the next 24 hours if symptoms worsen go to a&e or if still the same see gp.

Think tomorrow I'll call them have given him plan foods makes no difference after half an hour of being asleep he's puking poor thing

To top it off I am exhausted 😫

MummaL24 also just came across this post from googling. My 3.5yo has been vomiting at night since last Thursday. He stopped mon/Tues so sent him back to nursery then it started again Wed night and tonight. He's been a bit quieter during the day but still managing to eat/drink a good amount. Had him at gp today who thinks it is just a bug. He's been prescribed an anti spasmodic but only had 1 dose so far. It's just awful seeing him so miserable overnight and he's really tired with being up everynight. I'm fed up of washing bed covers everyday too! How is ur ds now? My oh has also been complaining of stomach pain for a few days but nothing has came of it.

My DS was sick from Friday through to Thursday , I did take him a&e Tuesday because he couldn't keep anything down they did do a really good check on him appendix sugar levels bloods urine the works , confirmed a lot of gastric bugs can in some cases only happen periodily like at night when they relax or during the day etc. I had to refuse food for 14 hours and just let him have water ice lolly's he wasn't bothered as he New eating could cause more sickness after that day of not feeding we had a night of no sickness let him eat as much as he wanted the following day and we are now 2 weeks clear

Detoled the entire house for 5 days straight and touch wood no one else has got it.
Altho DS school is a small class of 24 children last week numbers went down to only 10 because this bug is spreading.

Constant hand washing and cleaning everywhere to keep it at bay, (don't think my house has ever been so clean ) I am exhausted still tho but that's mummy life I hope your little one is ok now and doesn't have it much longer x

I know this post started some time ago but we are on night 6 of being sick it night.

Sons been sick and poo’s Monday am, no sick just poo’s tue am and same wed am, then Thursday am sick ans poo’ and Friday am sick and poo’s, then went to A&E and they weren’t helpful at all, asked me to try to get a wee sample, which how do you get on a 2yr old. They didn’t really do anything other than check this temp, Then i started to get a tummy ache, and was ill in hospital but they sent us both home, we’ve had all day with no sick and or poo’s but now sat am sick again. I just don’t know what it could be, he is coughing, but think that’s coz there is sick im his month.

Any advice on how long this goes on for?
Thanks.

Hello. I found this post from google. I’m desperate for answers. My daughter is 3.5. She has been waking up during the night really nausea and vomiting. This has now gone on for 4 nights. She is otherwise well, no fever, no diarrhoea, and none of us in the family are sick. I’ve taken her into ED and even spoken to a neurologist as they said vomiting upon wakening can be a sign of something putting pressure on the brain. So I’m freaked out and hoping others can relate and it’s turned out ok?? She will say she feels sick off and on during the day also but will generally just play like normal. PLEASE HELP!!

Hi there,
How is your daughter now? I’ve just found this post

Itwasme86mom · 01/06/2021 17:10

Hey, how is your daughter doing now? My son is on day 12 of this. I haven’t slept much or ate anything myself since I’m in such a panic. Just wondering how long this typically lasts.

Hello, here after looking for symptoms as well! My 26 months old son started with a runny nose about two weeks ago which seemed to get better in a couple of days.. about a week ago runny nose returned with a slight fever. The same night he puked 5 times…fever went away after almost 5 days but vomiting still persists every night - it’s now the 8th night, he’s vomiting just once every night for the last 3 days- while during day he seems ok , although he has a decrease in appetite. We went to the doctor for a check after the 3rd night of fever and vomiting, where she told us that he has a lot of mucus and saliva going down his throat and that’s probably the cause of night vomiting and suggested nasal washes which we already did anyway. Two days later since the symptoms didn’t go away we went to the hospital where he was admitted for the last two days where they performed some tests and found out that he has a virus called “norovirus”. They sent us away today and they said it’s “normal” for that virus to cause vomiting and it should go away in a couple -more- days. Hope the vomiting stops soon because although he was never dehydrated he has already lost 1 kg due to all this vomiting thing ! Ps. Sorry for my English

Hi. I’m really interested in knowing how long it ended up lasting for? I’ve just noticed even though it’s an old thread, your comments a couple months ago. This is currently happening with my daughter. She’s 3, i’m on the 7th night now. No temperature, been completely fine in herself, not dehydrated. But after the first night, shes now sick once every night in her sleep since. Doctors said it will have to be left to run its course and that it’s probably food poisoning but your messages are interesting and suggest otherwise. Please get back to me☺️ thank you

Hi,

My 19 month old has vomited 2 nights in a row, pretty much when he lies in bed it happens (7pm).
He has been his usual self during the day and eating/drinking as normal. He doesn’t have diarrhoea. Anyone took their little one to the GP and got an answer?

I just find it odd how it happens at that time only?

Please help from a very anxious mum :(
