Hi ds1 aged very nearly 6yrs has been saying his willy hurts a few days ago, and again just now. I have looked and there is nothing obvious - not red or sore or anything. He also said it goes straight! I told him its supposed to do that sometimes and just to try and leave it alone. Any ideas? Should I take him to gp to be checked out?

My 7 year old DS sometimes gets sore if his wee is too strong..as in he's not drunk enough water..i wouldn't worry

Shutupanddrive · 07/01/2012 21:05

Really? I will make sure he drinks lots tomorrow. Thanks for that

Ds had an infection of the foreskin where he said it hurt. He also had difficulty holding his wee in a minor sort of way. He had some sort of cream (antibiotic?) and it cleared in a few days.

Does his foreskin look ok? Not too tight etc? Tough to see these things I know!

Shutupanddrive · 07/01/2012 21:18

I think foreskin looks ok but will look again tomorrow to check properly, I hadn't thought of that Smile

I have three boys and all of them have, at some time had a sore willy. None of them have needed any treatment. I would just keep an eye on it.

Thankyou jubilee Smile

When he says 'it goes straight' does he mean he's getting an erection - if so then it might be that the foreskin is too tight or hurting some other way when it's like that.

DS got an infection in his foreskin last year, he just kept saying it hurt but there wasn't really anything to see, it was possibly a tiny bit swollen but very hard to tell in the early stages. It was only when the first lot of anti-b's wasn't doing anything and a few days later that it began to look sore. A second lot of anti-b's sorted that out very quickly.

To be honest I'd see if you can get him to the GP tomorrow (Monday) if it's still hurting him. If he has got an infection then it should clear up very quickly with the right treatment.

Yes, I think that's what he means acekicker. I asked him if it hurts just when it's straight or all the time, and he said all the time. He had a bath last night and it looked ok and he hasn't mentioned it since. He has gone to school today, but will take him to gp if he mentioned it again. Thanks for replies
