DD's wonky toes

Maybe I'm concerned about nothing, but here goes:

DD (6yo) has lovely long slim fingers and toes. However, toes 4 and 5 on each foot are curled towards her big toe. I am almost certain this is because she wore ill-fitting shoes for a period of time. When standing normally, the toes are almost straight, but when clenched, they will almost curl in the horizontal plane instead of the vertical IYSWIM. The nails on those toes are also slightly angled towards the big toe.

She's a beauty, I don't want the problem to exacerbate as she gets older and for her to be embarrased about her odd curly toes because we didn't check her shoes fitted well. As she's still only young, is there anyway to direct those toes to grow straight?

Thanks

Genetically all my toes curl badly towards the big toe. It's a genetic thing which both dm and dgranny had. Dm took me and siblings to see if anything could be done and told nothing could be done.

Apparently Anastasia from the Russian royal family (the one who was assassinated) also had it so we're in good company Wink
Actually having got a daughter missing one hand it now seems a silly thing to fuss over.

The other possibility is that she is an over-pronater ie foot rolls when she walks. Might be worth getting her checked out - she may benefit from some orthotics.

I have that. For me it's caused by my rolling feet outwards, so the toes try to grip the floor. I wear insoles to try to stop the rolling, but they were fitted after my bones and fused so haven't been that helpful. My mum was told it was normal, but I've been left with other foot issues, so please go and get it checked.

I've never been embarrassed about my toes, and I dance so spend a lot of time barefoot.
