Frequent weeing, occasionally sore, wetting herself when she's been long out of nappies... The collected wisdom of family and friends says infection so dr tomorrow. But, they won't want a sample will they? I'm 38 weeks pg, samples is all I do, I'm permanently in sample mode, but getting one from her...Hmm

They probably will want a sample. If she'll wee in a potty, it's quite easy - just pour it into the sample bottle. If she won't go on a potty (my 3 year old wouldn't, I know that!) then you can try catching her wee in a plastic cup when she's sitting on the toilet, and pour that into the sample bottle.

When my daughter had this, they did a quick test as the GPs then sent the sample off to the lab for proper testing as they need to know what type of infection it is to check they're giving the correct antibiotics.

as someone who has many years of this with my dd, yes the plastic cup whilst she is sitting on the toilet is the way to go

Yes, they will want a sample to do a quick dip test. I could only find some Tupperware so had to take one in that! DD is 6 but the doc said that he would give her antibiotics anyway and that he would send a sample off. waiting results. Antibiotics worked the next day. Good luck!

Thank you. It's our first one so we're new to the business of pre-school samples.
