Toddler vomiting for 3 days now

Just after a bit of advice from more experienced mums please. My 18 month old has been vomiting for 3 full days. She initially had a fever but that seems to have gone now. We saw the dr on first day due to the fever and was told it was just a virus and there was nothing to be done. She is drinking weak squash and is producing wet nappies so I'm not worried about dehydration. She's had one bout of diarrhoea yesterday and no bowel movements since.

She is just not herself at all. She hasn't wanted to play or do anything other than lie on me and sleep since it started. She's not talking, except the occasional "no" and seems really out of it except for a few mins at a time between sleeps, even then she's not her normal self.

I'm just worried because it's been so long since she kept any food down (we've tried giving her solids a couple of times as she seemed hungry but it's come back up a couple of hours later) and she seems so weak and pathetic.

Should we be taking her back to drs tomorrow or just keep waiting it out?

Give NHS direct a call to see what they say if you're worried tonight - at least it will put your mind at rest.

Will she drink milk at all? Just thinking that if she can keep that down you could try her with some toast.

Thanks for reply! She's not keeping all her squash down. She won't drink milk even when well - not since she quit breastfeeding.

Haven't found nhs direct to be very helpful in the past but might give them a try later.

Have you got any diarolyte (sp?) it tastes like squash I think but gives back the salts etc that she will have lost. Helped my son a lot when he had a bad gastro bug at 15 months. Hope LO is better soon. xx

Have you tried her with a yakult or the like? My dd picked up a virus that was going around her nursery, they really helped. As previous poster said the diaralytes are good to keep the sugar/salt balance, Hope she feels better soon.

Thanks for responses. Tried several flavours of dioralyte but she just looks at my like I'm trying to poison her. Not tried yakult. I will get DH to pick some up after work. She's still vomiting but was hungry so I offered her some toast at lunchtime (felt evil eating in front of her). Now I'm just waiting to see if it stays down. Fingers crossed!
