Hairdresser commented on DD's thinning hair. Has anyone any experience of this?

Is she eating properly? Is there any chance she's bulimic?

Iron deficiency can cause someone to lose hair, as can other deficiencies. You can get a product called Nioxin, It is quite expensive but effective.

My dd is ten and has been pulling her hair out, I had a conversation with her about it - she had a horrible teacher, she was also being bullied, horrible teacher is no longer her teacher, and the bullying is being dealt with. Really hoping the hair will growback in. It is a worry.

I would go to the doctor, is it noticeable to your dd?

Thanks for all your responses. Family friend is paediatrician and has suggested Vitamin B complex for a month. We had already noticed hair loss but thought DD was 'twiddling' it. If it's no better after a month we will see about blood test, though there are no other signs of thyroid problem. Hope TapselteerieO's DD is better soon.
