I've posted about this before but thought I'd try again on the off chance that someone might have some new advice. I'll try to keep it short. DS is 6yo. A few times a year he gets a horrible cough, sometimes associated with a cold, but not always. He has had all the tests you can imagine and he is not asthmatic. It just seems that coughs are particularly troublesome for him. The real problem is at night. He coughs continually and it's heartbreaking to hear. I do all the obvious things, and also some obscure things too, like prop his pillows up, make sure his room is warm but has some fresh air, vicks on chest and feet, onion in the room, etc, etc. Nothing helps. It can go on for weeks. Medised is the best thing I've found, as calpol/nurofen/cough mixtures do nothing. Has anyone else got any other ideas or experience of this please?? Like I say, it is not asthma, we have all the inhalers and they never help in the slightest. He has also had Singulair, reflux meds, x-rays, etc, but it seems it is nothing sinister. Anything else I am missing or any remedies gratefully received. Thanks
