7 month old pooing like there's no tomorrow

Both myself and my husband have had a really vicious bug (vomiting and the rest), from which we have now pretty much recovered.

Our son seemed to escape, but he has been pooing non-stop since yesterday afternoon. I wouldn't say it's diarrhoea as it's not especially runny (but not particularly solid either, like soft scoop ice cream (not eating that for a while now...)). He seems happy in himself and just wondered if this is something that just happens now and then (and just happens to have coincided with our bug of doom). He's producing wet nappies, but maybe not as wet as they have been.

Before I run down to the surgery in the morning, I thought I'd ask here, just in case this rings a bell with anyone.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy your suppers, one and all!

Sounds okay to me, provided he is keeping fluids down and not dehydrated I don't think it is an issue. My DD1 gets this sometimes and it seems to pass after a couple of stinky days. No illness behind it I don't think

Dd got / gets this sometimes. How many dirty nappies a day? How many does he normally have?

As long as he's happy, alert and keeping fluids down then gp won't do anything anyways.

Thanks both. Yesterday he had six dirty nappies, but fluids were kept down. Think I was just paranoid after our bug!

Snap!

My 7mo DS had mild D & V last about 12 days ago for a couple of days. Sickness stopped but still fairly frequent wet poo's, yuck. I had a wee look and internet and basically as long as no blood in the poo, no high temp, and happy enough baby, then you just have to let it run its course. If still having runny poo after 10 days get it checked.
I went to GP on mon as still not right (10 days). GP lovely but just said it should pass. 10 days is quite a long time but as long as they are not off their food just go with the flowWink. My DS's worst day was 6 dirty nappies in one day too, I feel your pain.

snap too! but childminder won't have him after the 'dodgy nappies' as she reckons it's diarrhoea. He had diarrhoea last week which was totally different to the dodgy nappies - obviously diarrhoea. (and I kept him off) Doc sent a sample off and come back clear, HV wonders if toddler diarrhoea or teething... was well in himself, normal perky fella!

usually 1 solid poo a day but at the moment 2 or more sloppy ones...

Hi Leviathan
How old is your LO?
As I said my LO is 7.5 mo and i had a friend that recommended that i reduce the amount of formula he was taking as this can sometimes cause runny poo. Decided to give this a go as he was taking 32oz a day which is way over and above the required 18-21 oz.
We've had 2 days of 26oz (along with 3 small "meals") and he is back to 2 poo's a day. Yipee.

Hi cheeky ginger, he's 14 months and breast fed. Has been refusing food and drinking milk, I think, because he's been feeling off colour. Started back on food yesterday but still drinking a fair bit of milk. Had a solid poo last night but been explosive again today!
