Baby with a cold

DD2 (7m) has a cold. Can someone remind me when they can manage to sleep with a snotty nose? I've been up every night with her for nearly 2 weeks. Please tell me she'll be old enough to cope with it soon! (I am too old to cope with it!)

Her bed is propped up, she has Vicks- type stuff on her chest, a Karvol vaporiser in her room & some olbas oil on a muslin tied to her bed. I am dosing her with calpol or brufen when appropriate. I have some saline spray, but she screams blue murder when she sees it do I've stopped using it.

Please let me know if there's anything else I could be doing!!

you can get saline in a dropper, apart from that you're doing everything I can think of; my dd (5) is on her second heavy cold on the bounce Sad she may miss her nativity again

Sounds like you have all the bases covered, just time now I'm afraid

Bugger. I was hoping you were going to tell me something I'd forgotten about! Thanks anyway!

A humidifier in their bedroom does a brilliant job of helping them sleep - think back to your last blocked nose & how much better you feel after a shower. We have a cold mist one so it's safe in the room, and also it doesn't heat the room up like a warm mist one might, which might nit be good if you're trying to keep temps down.

We wouldn't be without ours now, makes a huuuuugggggge difference!

A-ha! There is something! Grin. I have confused myself by reading reviews on Amazon, but will defo get one. I used to put a ramikin filled with water on top of DD1s radiator when she was a baby, but can't really do that any more (unless I want it tipped on the floor!!)
