nasal voice and adenoids

My dd has always had a very nasal quality to her speech. When she was younger she also used to snore very loudly, but grew out of this around 3 years old. Recently (last 4 months), the snoring has returned and she's been waking up in the morning looking absolutely shattered as if she hasn't slept all night. This is now impacting on her in a big way; deterioration in behaviour, concentration levels etc. Although she snores she doesn't stop breathing or choke so not classic sleep apnea.

From looking in her throat her tonsils do not seem to be the problem, but from what I've read up on it is probably enlarged adenoids which would cause this? Has anybody else's child had their adenoids out and it has stopped the nasal sound of their voice? Or that it has relieved sleep disturbances?

We have a referral to ENT but it's a 10-12 week wait for an appointment. I was also wondering if anyone had had adenoids removed privately and how much this cost approximately?

Many thanks
