Anyone have experience of impacted milk teeth after an accident?

last Tuesday dd3 15 months fell off a little chair at a playgroup whilst holding a toy which went into her teeth.

She had 4 top front teeth.

One of the big middle ones has completely gone & she has impacted the other three into the gums.

Now it looks less horrific in her mouth you can see the teeth but they are not where they used to be by a long way.

Maxillo facial say they may come down on their own if not then they will take them out under anaesthetic.

Has anyone had any experience of either outcome they d care to share?
Next apt not til dec 21.

This happened to the 3 year old neighbour's daughter.
Her uncle is a dentist and had a look at her. He said not to worry, they would grow again. And they did Grin

Thanks for replying I was beginning to think I was the only one!

The teeth either side look like they are coming back into place quite well but the other big tooth is quite twisted and far up into the gum still.

I'm hoping they won't do a ga removal she just seems so little for that kind of thing.

And I'll have just had a baby by the time her apt comes I don't know if I'll cope with it very well!

Oh no, what poor timing - not that there is ever a good time for this!

I was just reminded on another thread, I lost 5 teeth aged 13 in an RTA - all were reimplanted and all 'took' again except for the one tooth which had been lying in the dirt for 6 hours! Even that one stayed in (albeit dead) until I was over 20 to allow my jaw to continue growing/maturing.

They are resilient things, teeth!

Good luck with it all - teeth and new baby Smile.

Hi

This happened to ds when he was 3 after falling face down on the pavement :-(

One of his milk teeth did discolour though, so maybe be prepared for that (I did want to get him a badge that said "no, my teeth are not rotten!")

He has now most of his adult teeth and they came through unharmed and lovely Grin

Hope he feels better soon

Thanks for the replies.
Yes it has not been a great week - after the day in hospital with dd3 I couldn't sleep & when dd2 came up at 3am and asked to be carried to bed - downstairs as we are in the loft- I did.

Then I fell down the stairs and didn't want to hurt dd2 or soon to be dc4 so I stuck out my foot & broke my toe & potentially another bone in my foot.

So I'm picturing myself hobbling to sit by a bed watching dd3 have a ga whilst feeding a newborn.

May have to get myself a violin to play!
