She has a fever, today is first day of full spots.

Is there anything other than piriton I can give her it doesn't seem to be helping the itching. She is having calpol / nurofen for the fever and poxclin mousse on the spots.

Do I need to see / tell a doctor?

Eurex cream is really good, stops the itching and doesn't dry out on the skin.

I do have calomil (sp).

Eurax is good, we had it for ds 2 weeks ago but you can't use it on under 3s.

Virasoothe (Boots, kind of cooling gel for chickenpox) is also very good. Main thing to look out for is that spots don't get infected as a result of scratching. If they are infected you do need to contact GP as may need anti-biotic cream. Also, make sure finger nails are short. Lots of distraction helps as well.

Thanks, yep have been sorting nails.

How do you know if they are infected? Ds had one which I thought needed anti as it was bigger and 'wet' looking and his temp had spiked after previously being down but nurse said it was fine but would scar.

She has loads on her face, I'm so worried about scarring. As well as fevers / itching / complications etc etc etc...

I remember when I was tiny and had it my mum put something in my bath that smelled of lime jelly - she said it was to stop the itching.

It might have been savlon, or dettol, or similar? I want to say savlon, their website says you can put it in the bath here.

Doesn't really help about her face though...

Bath in epsom salts will draw out the 'toxins' as it were.

Bicarbonate of soda or porridge oats in the bath (in an old sock/pair of tights to stop them clogging the drain! :) ) help to stop the itching.
