I'm not sure if I'm worrying unnecessarily but I am worried about my grandaughters foot. I have mentioned it to my daughter on a few occasions recently but she thinks all is well so I'm very reluctant to keep on about it but I'm worried.
She was crawling and pulling herself up and walking round the furniture at 8 months, at nearly a year she is not walking which in itself I'm not at all concerned about but her right foot doesn't look right to me.
I first noticed it about 5 weeks ago ( I look after her 2 afternoons per week so see quite a bit of her), she was walking with push along toy and was badly dragging 1 foot, it looked very limp. I mentioned this to her parents and then we examined her foot and it was quite badly bruised on 1 side, her dad said he remebered at the park acouple of days before she had cried and then lifted her foot off the ground so we asumed the problem was down to this.
Now it is much better but she does not use it like her other foot, it still seems to drag a bit to me and not flex properly as the other foot does. She can stand unaided for quite a while and can do her version of dancing without holding on to anything but she will not taKe a step forward apart from when holding on to pushalong.
As i had been going on about it my daughter mentioned it to the HV who said it looked fine and check again in 6 months.
I am of the opinion that it should be looked at properly in case a small bone was broken 5 weeks ago that isn't healing properly.
I accept I could be just fussing over nothing but my instinct tells me I'm
not.
If anyone has experienced any similar problems I would love to hear of outcomes.
Thank you
