small white spots/boils in dd 16 mths

I am a bit neurotic about spots/rashes at the moment as there does seem to be chickenpox about. Noticed a small clear/white boil type spot on dd's forehead this morning. I thought it was her breakfast & wiped at it & then was surprised when it was liquid leaving a small red spot. Have just changed her nappy & she has two spots on her bottom, one near the front that just looks like a red spot & the other is a small boil type between her buttocks. Not experienced this before with other dd, any idea what it could be. She seems alright in herself but is a bit grizzly.

Could either be chicken pox or be Coxsackie (hand foot and mouth) - No not the one you are thinking of which wiped out all the farming stock! Grin Are the blisters uop to about 2mm across, and look on her feet and fingers, and in her mouth.

Thanks for your reply, her hands & feet look fine, no blisters/spots although her hands do look very red, she won't let me look in her mouth, yes the spots are that size. Will keep a look out, remember hand foot & mouth now with dd1.

Good Luck, I hope she feels better soon.

Thank you, have found a few more spots on her head now & in her ear, which makes me think more chickenpox. Oh well if it is I suppose it needs getting over with at some point & better now than Christmas!

Well she's not covered head to toe in spots like dd1 was when she has it, still a few on her bottom, couple round the waist & about 6 on her scalp. Do look chickenpoxy now though. How long does it normally last til they all scab over, can't remember from dd1, I know it felt like forever! DD1 is at school & dp can take her but have to pick her up so guess I'll just have to steer clear of other kids.

Does sound like chicken pox, some kids don't get very many spots at all, if I remember rightly I thuink it is 5 days after the start appearing that they scab over, and when the are scabbed she will not be infectious any more. Hope she feels better soon.
