Should I take DS to nursery after being so ill yesterday?

DS (2.10) has had a cold for about a week. Very snotty, but nothing major until yesterday when he came down with a fever in the afternoon. He was really unwell, poor thing. He had a temp of 39c and was shivering and listless.

We gave him calpol and put him to bed. I slept in with him and he had lots of breastmilk.

I had expected to be home with him today. but he seems bright as a button today! he's eaten a good breakfast, he's chatting away and playing happily. He says he feels better. Would you take him in, or do you think he needs a day off anyway as less than 12 hours ago he had a temp of 39!?

DP and I both have really important meetings today. We've arranged for me to be home, with DP coming back for a long lunch so I get get out for one of my meetings. We'll both miss important stuff though.

WWYD?

I would take him but I would ask nursery to ring me at the least sign of any temp and give him calpol at that point if they will.

Thanks for the reply :)
Perhaps I should mention I'm at uni, and DS goes to nursery on my campus so I'm, only 5 minutes away from him.

This is the first time DS has had a proper fever, this is all new to me!

Generally they're quickly up temp wise and then as quickly back to normal. You would still be in bed feeling crap but they're bouncing off the walls. What you have there is a well child so take him and prepare to get him if anything changes. Great that you're so close.
