reflux - to treat or not to treat

just wanting different opinions on my dilemma. my 15 week old daughter has silent reflux. after many weeks of screaming i eventually gave in and stopped BF and started giving her gaviscon via a bottle.
she is 70% better. we dont have screaming fits for hours on end any more and she sleeps much better but she still fusses and cries at every feeding time. she will only take 2oz at a time before getting upset. i just have to keep taking breaks, walking round to settle her before trying again. sometimes she takes it, sometimes she cries more.
she is gaining weight fine.
i am seeing a paediatrician in a week. the question is do i persevere and hope things will get better or do i get more treatment (likely ranitidine) to imprve things further?
different advice and opinions would be helpful

My Son had reflux it was extremely distressing and I was a bundle of nerves but, after a while things settled down - he tended to gulp milk and really the turning point came with solids but a faster flow teat on his bottle helped too.

Its horrid but she should grow out of it - best talk to the paed and take his advice, I know it is hard but try not to fret as babies tend to get more stressed when you are.

i would definitley treat.. my son has suffered severe silent reflux since birth so i can sympathise :(
if you leave it and she is still refluxing acid then this can cause damage and scarring to the esophagus
speak to the consultant and ask for some tests, they tend to try and tell you they will grow out of it and weaning will help which is true in most cases but not if they have any underlying problems.. my son has a hiatus hernia which probably means he will never stop having reflux related problems
