I do this - in fact most of my joints click, many involuntarily. It's mostly a bad habit, but it may mean your DS is slightly hypermobile which could be worth getting checked out. There's no evidence it leads to arthritis but I understand that it sounds a bit gross to everyone else. It may be worth getting his feet checked to see if he has any tendency to under/over pronation, in which case he could be given some strengthening exercises and possibly orthotic inserts.

I wouldn't worry. Oh and I'm not in any way a medical expert; I just have a similar habit.

Oh crap. DD has had problems, had hypotonia, so really don't want DS1 to start with something now. My ostepath said to wait a week to see if it is still going on. Who would I need to take DS1 too? A GP?

Sorry FAB didn't realise there was history. I am pretty lucky and only have issues if over-training and not balancing out my exercise, so my diagnosis and treatment has all been through my (excellent) private physio. I would guess the GP - but they don't tend to take things like this seriously unless they're causing more serious issues. Maybe try the GP first and if not try to find a private physio who is interested in this sort of thing? Hope it works out ok...

We have always gone privately with DD as the GP has been shite but things are different now and I need to try the NHS before I rush into paying out unneccessarily.
