He is only 2 and shouts out in pain about his leg, turns out it is his foot, so I took off his woolly sock to give it a rub. He asked that I 'clean' it, an odd request?
His feet a really cold!
It is more that it seems odd for a left foot to hurt so when he is flopped on the couch under a blanket with his dressing gown on etc.
Have given him some calpol and tried to offer his favourite brekkie of porridge with peanut butter but he says he doesn't want to eat it now.

Sure it is just normal cold type symptoms but, you know, you worry...........

They always do the "It's some kind of virus" thing! So glad he's now on the mend.

I second looking around for a better GP!

Ds had pneumonia at xmas. It took him a long time to get back to being his normal self but the antibiotics work wonders.

Fwiw you should always dress them in cool breathable clothes but not let them get too chilled - its a balancing act I know and its horrible when they're shivering and feel cold and you can't help :(

Don't ever let doctors make you doubt your concern. As a mum you know if things are not good and you did well for your son.

My DD saw doctors twice in the 36hrs before she ended up in intensive care. Both times we were told "viral" give it time etc. If we had waited it out any longer she wouldn't be here now.

Yeah, I think I will just book my appointments with the other doc from now on.
I kind of liked the down to earth approach of the first one, bit like how I normally am. But I have received a few of his wee lectures which I normally take with a pinch of salt but I could see the look he gave me when I nipped in to get the letter for the hospital (and it made a point of saying that I had him wrapped up 'and a blanket' as the final line.) the look said you are making such a fuss and I know I will be proven right.

sorry to hear what you've been through, but glad your DS is on the mend

I guess that being 100 miles away from a paeds dept you don't get an overwhelming choice of GPs & just have to hope for the best..

hope your DS is feeling much better! My DS had pneumonia when he was about 2 (he is 4 now) and it was awful
